Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Project Controls 3 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM.
Salary: $62/hr - $68/hr
Location: Los Alamos, NM (TA-55) – Onsite
Citizenship: US Citizenship Required
Work Schedule: 4/10 or 9/80 schedules typical
Clearance: Q Clearance preferred; must be able to obtain Q clearance

- Candidates must have hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and Deltek Cobra (including backend/Cobra administration).
- Candidates must be eligible for or already hold a Q Clearance and able to obtain unescorted access (A-level).
- Previous LANL employees who were released/let go will not be considered.
Impact
In this role, you will support mission-critical weapons production efforts by strengthening project controls across cost and scheduling functions. You will play a key role in ensuring project performance, forecasting accuracy, and compliance with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) standards in a highly secure national laboratory environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Support and maintain the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Controls System
- Perform cost estimating, cost analysis, and cost control activities
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules
- Identify cost/schedule trends and communicate insights to management
- Provide technical direction and oversight for cost engineering and planning/scheduling activities (as delegated)
- Ensure project work is completed according to schedule and budget expectations
- Perform planning and scheduling functions across field and home office environments
- Support organizational and administrative project activities as needed
- Develop solutions to complex project control challenges requiring in-depth analysis
- Contribute to development of new methods, tools, or approaches within project controls
- Coordinate activities of project personnel when required
- Prepare and deliver detailed project status reports
- Implement corrective actions based on performance metrics
- Work within secure environments and systems (including Red Network and Cobra systems)
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Project planning and scheduling (development, control, analysis)
- Cost engineering (estimating, control, analysis)
- Advanced knowledge of EVMS tools and processes
- Experience using Primavera P6 and Deltek Cobra (including administration)
- Strong understanding of project controls and project management principles
- Ability to work in secure environments with confidential information
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with PC operating systems and multiple software applications
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Desired Skills
- Experience working in DOE or national laboratory environments
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
- Advanced knowledge of engineering and construction management practices
- Experience supporting complex technical or nuclear-related projects
- Supervisory or leadership experience in project controls functions
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Postgraduate coursework is desirable
