The Child Welfare QA/QI Coordinator is expected to lead quality assurance activities in Community Mediation Services’ Family Services Division funded the NYC Administration for Children services (ACS) Using data to strengthen child welfare practice, the ideal candidate will have program and technical knowledge as well as program analysis capabilities. The QA/QI Coordinator will review, analyze, interpret, and summarize information.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for routinely conducting internal audits in preventive programs for the purposes of quality assurance and improvement.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of external audits (ACS’ APA, OPP, PAMS &OCFS).
  • Analytical support and technical assistance to management and staff in the areas of information management, program planning and program evaluation.
  • Responsible for coordinating and conducting reviews of objective performance measures ,drawn from systems of record data (Case Record Reviews, PROMIS , CONNECTIONS applications and Client Satisfaction Surveys )or other resources.
  • Prepare and Coordinate data and compliance reports as requested.
  • Assist with data reconciliation and clean – up.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring compliance with client and agency confidentiality standards and ethical expectations.
  • Assure that ACS funded programs are providing services in accordance with agency standards, federal, state and city regulations.
  • Must work cooperatively and respectfully with all employees.
  • May require some evenings /Saturday hours.
  • Collect, monitor and report data on program performance.
  • Work with Vice President to prepare for Executive reports.
  • Participate in existing program staff meetings, and/or develop forums within the Division for the analysis of outcome data and the discussion of programmatic insights, implications, and strategies for improving program quality and results.
  • Participate in critical incident investigations and reviews.
  • Collaborate with program supervisors to develop and submit a corrective action plan when warranted.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President maintain program policy and procedure manuals.
  • Train all supervisors on new/revised policies and procedures by ACS and OCFS.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure new staff are trained on program policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications:

Relevant experience in a child welfare environment; knowledge of core principles and standards for child welfare practices, ACS and OCFS regulatory standards; strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, education, business, public policy, or other related field. Three years’ experience in nonprofit, preferred.
  • Experience with NYC child welfare programs and ACS requirements and systems, including PROMIS and Connections, preferred.
  • Flexibility for evening and Saturday hours required
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and respond to various audiences through strong customer service.
  • Experience with program auditing and analyzing results to produce findings, make recommendations, and follow-up to reach outcomes.
  • Mastery of MS Office, especially Word and Excel; knowledge of MS Access and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques for predictive analytics a plus.
  • Possess superb project management, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, innovate, demonstrate initiative and follow through.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pursue everything with energy and drive; ability to guide others for results.
