- Eligible for a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts
- 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday-Friday - $19.46/hour
- 2nd Shift - 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday $19.46 10% differential - $21.40/hour
- 3rd Shift - 9:30pm - 6:00am - Sunday - Thursday - $19.46 10% differential - $21.40/hour
The Logistics Coordinator A will coordinate the day-to-day operation of all aspects of goods and materials movement within the warehouse, including tracking shipments to ensure a smooth logistics operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily routing of orders in accordance with the transportation route guide.
- Checks and verifies incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information and quantities against relevant records.
- Monitoring the movement of goods by ensuring that products are delivered to the right location, at the right time, and in the most cost-effective manner.
- Schedule appointments in WMS for all loads, coordinating with the DC manager and/or third-party facility manager for dock capacity scheduling and special shipping requirements.
- Review the previous day's dock schedule to ensure all orders are shipped; if not, reschedule.
- Collaborate with drop carriers to maintain the trailer pool and coordinate with relevant parties on loads not scheduled by the end of the period.
- Maintains appropriate inventory levels, including inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Arranges warehousing and transportation of products to customers, ensuring compliance with customer guidelines regarding shipment weight and method.
- Escalate any trending customer-driven delivery issues to customers.
- May investigate and respond to inquiries regarding distribution and shipping.
- May collaborate with other departments to optimize the supply chain.
- Provide recommendations in support of maintaining continuous process improvements.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
- All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2 years of prior logistics experience. **is this accurate, or is it more like 1 ??**
- Understanding of logistics supply chain systems, including Warehouse Management Systems.
- Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, and influence individuals.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical skills.
- Capacity to engage with customers in a professional manner, when applicable.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Eagerness for continuous learning.
- General knowledge of OSHA Standards.
Educational Requirements
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Warehouse environment.
- The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary.
- The ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time, if necessary.
- The ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous/repetitive capacity, if necessary
