You will attend training sessions and shadow CAL Inspectors to learn how to properly perform inspections. Successful completion of the trainee program may lead to promotion to a CAL Inspector. - Assisting in inspecting asbestos abatement project sites.
- Assisting in inspecting lead abatement project sites.
- Assisting in auditing asbestos and lead abatement training providers.
- Assisting in inspecting retail and secondhand locations selling bedding and upholstered furniture items.
- Assisting in inspecting retail locations selling stuffed toy articles.
- Assisting in preparing reports of inspection and audit findings.
- Communicating effectively with stake holders and the public.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time, home-headquartered employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in building maintenance or construction, workplace safety or inspection, retail sales, or customer service; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
- You must obtain a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania asbestos worker training course completion certificate, a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania lead-based paint activities worker training course completion certificate, and a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania lead-based paint activities inspector training course completion certificate within the probationary period.
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following counties by date of hire: Centre, Union, Lycoming, Clinton, Snyder, Montour, or Northumberland.
