Summary
The Machining and Welding Supervisor manages a team of hourly associates that are responsible for machining, welding, grinding, and painting components parts and assemblies in-house. The Machining and Welding Supervisor schedules and manages the workload in the Machine and Weld Shop, coordinates the flow of materials in a timely and accurate manner to the assembly floor to meet production schedules, assures the delivery of parts and assemblies that meet consistently meet specifications, and maintains accurate inventory.

The Machining and Welding Supervisor will split time between the office and the Machine and Weld Shop. The work environment can be fast paced with changing daily priorities. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am till 4:00pm, but must have the ability to work off-shift on occasion and weekends as needed.

Essential Functions
The Machining and Welding Supervisor will perform the following duties:
- Supervisory role to include time and attendance, performance reviews, mentoring and discipline, recruiting and hiring.
- Oversees Machine and Weld Shop personnel for the functions of machining, welding, grinding, and painting.
- Schedules machining and welding orders weekly while keeping consistent with priority set by master schedule. Adjusts schedule effectively for changes in high priority jobs.
- Maintains data in ERP system related to hours and costs for work completed in the Shop.
- Ensure all equipment is operable and wellmaintained. Schedules preventative maintenance and service for all equipment in the Shop.
- Sets standards for cleanliness and organization in the Machine and Weld Shop. Assures those standards are routinely met.
- Promotes a “culture of safety” by ensuring all materials are stored and handled safely, all operations are performed in a safe manner and leading the team daily by example.
- Provides leadership in the for all functions. Makes recommendations, contributes ideas, develops, and implements best practices for inhouse fabrication and machining processes.
- Maintains completeness and accuracy of raw materials inventory.
- Collaborates with management to set performance goals and budgets.
- Ensure team members are properly trained and knowledgeable of their roles and responsibilities. Encourages professional development through mentoring and other means that are available.
- Acts with a mind toward continuous improvement in the Machine and Weld Shop performance and for the improvement of the business.
- Works towards meeting or exceeding goals related to accuracy and timeliness of completing work; managing capacity; throughput; yield; and inventory accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Prior experience with ERP systems; experience with SyteLine is beneficial.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
