THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Grind Blades Supervisor
ROLE: Set-up, operate, and inspect CNC grinding machines used to finish grind various features of drill inserts. Finish grind all Standard and Special product including Blades; set-up and operate manual grinders, inspect work per work instructions; and monitor customer due dates and through-put. Setup and run production on Wendt Haas, Gerber Polish Machine, and Waterjet. Setup and operate offline truing machine.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and run Walter grinders for special/prototype product Create part programs and data files on machine controller utilizing blueprints and existing software
- Setup and run Wendt Haas
- Setup and run Waterjet
- Setup and un Gerber polish machine
- Setup and run manual machines
- Work with engineering, programming, quality control, and quoting to resolve problems
- Must be able to access all on-line work instructions.
- Observe and report all areas that need addressed.
- Maintain a high quality level as well as a high rate of efficiency.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Correct reporting of job transactions.
- Troubleshooting machine and programming problems.
- Create and test new wheel stacks and programs single and full runs.
- Fill out NCR for blades that do not meet our quality standards
- Follow inspection plan
- Maintain low absenteeism/tardiness as determined by management.
- Willingness to follow instructions and procedures in a cooperative manner.
- Proper use and care of micrometers, calipers, contracer, HeliCheck, SmartScope, comparator, and manual camera.
- Read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to plan production on machines to be able to meet required order quota.
- Ability to adjust setup according to customer demand.
