About the Role
As a Transport CDL Driver based in Valdez, you’ll haul fuel from the Valdez Refinery to the VPT using doubles (A-trains) and single trailers. You’ll work closely with Fuel Facility Operators and operate with a strong safety-first mindset in all weather conditions. This role is critical to Colville’s transport operations and to keeping Alaska fueled and moving.
In This Role, You Will
- Drive Safely and Responsibly: Deliver bulk fuel in all conditions, including ice and snow; tire chains required.
- Stay Sharp: Maintain accurate records, communicate clearly with dispatch and team members, and complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Operate with Agility: Frequently enter and exit trucks, hook up load arms at terminals, and adapt to changing schedules and operational demands.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years commercial driving required. Loop haul and fuel hauling experience preferred.
- License & Endorsements: Valid CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Doubles endorsements required (2 years of doubles experience preferred). Clean driving record required.
- Skills: Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills. Comfortable working in Arctic conditions.
- Pre-Hire Requirements: DOT drug screen, physical exam, background check, FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance, and valid MVR.
- Preferred Qualifications: Arctic driving experience, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and experience with overlength trailers.
Operational Preference:
While all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, preference may be given to drivers who are already based in Alaska or the surrounding region, or who can reliably meet scheduling and travel requirements with minimal relocation or commute impact. This helps support operational efficiency and team continuity.
