Colville is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Oiler to join our Transport maintenance team in Fairbanks, Alaska.
This hands-on position supports the maintenance, service, and repair of Colville's fleet and equipment. You will support experienced maintenance professionals to help keep vehicles and equipment safe, reliable, and ready for operation.

As an Oiler, you will assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, service, of a variety of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
This position is based at our Fairbanks shop and is best suited for candidates who live in or around the Fairbanks area. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What You'll Do
As an Oiler, responsibilities may include:
- Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, service, and minor repairs on light- and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Service and maintain equipment components, including tanks, pumps, and fuel-transfer equipment as applicable.
- Respond to service needs and assist with repairs in the shop or field when required.
- Perform routine inspections and daily maintenance checks.
- Identify maintenance concerns and communicate repair needs to appropriate team members.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records as required.
- Track materials, parts, and supplies used during maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain productive working relationships with mechanics, drivers, operations personnel, and other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
What We're Looking For
Experience
Previous experience in diesel, automotive, heavy-equipment maintenance, or a related mechanical role is preferred.
An apprenticeship in diesel technology, automotive technology, or a related field is a plus.
Basic mechanical knowledge
Real time experience preferred
Skills and Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow established maintenance procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver's license required.
CDL preferred.
