Summary:
Prepares and serves beverage orders and takes and serves food orders. Provides quality service to casino guests in a professional, efficient and profitable manner, which promotes superior team member, guest and vendor relations.
Essential Functions:
- Efficiently prepares beverage orders for cocktail server or guest and inspects for accuracy.
- I.D. guest if they appear 30 years old or younger.
- Operating blenders, coffee makers, ice cream makers, and other equipment.
- Washing glassware and bar utensils.
- Provide beverage service to the gaming floor when staffing and/or time allows.
- Suggestively sell menu items, specials and beverages at all times.
- Accepts money and makes change through point of sale system.
- Monitoring bar inventory and ordering supplies and ingredients when needed.
- Performs daily cleaning duties; keeps bar station area neat, clean and sanitized.
- Applies the firstin/firstout procedure, properly labeling, rotating new and remaining products.
- Responsible for clearing bar and/or tables after each beverage is served, including replacing cocktail napkin and ashtray.
- Completes daily prep and cleaning checklist.
- Complies with all applicable laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- At least oneyear bartending experience in a highvolume bar or fullservice restaurant required.
- Certified bartending training is required. OR
- Experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position which must include food and beverage industry experience.
- Knowledge and ability to make and serve common drink orders in an accurate and timely manner, based on memory, and if applicable, following the established 12 Tribes recipes.
- Ability to accurately calculate basic math equations such as addition and subtraction.
- Knowledge and ability to operate point of sales system.
- Ability to interact with many different types of guests and to encourage a fun atmosphere.
- Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
- Must successfully pass TIPS training upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Card.
- Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training, if applicable, upon hire and annually.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current Class MAST 12 permit.
- Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
- Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and nonverbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a nongaming permit.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
- Ability to frequently walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally push and/or pull up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat and/or reach.
- Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice nonverbal behavior.
- Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on radio/telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
- Occasionally works near or around electricity.
- Frequently works near or around mechanical moving parts.
- Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Frequently exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
- Frequently exposed to tobacco smoke.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
