Responsibilities
- Develop detailed estimates by reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings using tools like Bluebeam and HeavyBid software.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and scope of work to secure optimal terms.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that include cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost analysis to ensure accurate pricing aligned with project requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and adjust estimates as needed to maintain competitiveness.
- Support project management teams by providing cost control insights and assisting in contract negotiations.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, contracts, and correspondence for transparency and future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in estimating with a strong understanding of land development management processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid; experience with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of site operations, contracts, and project management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis accurately.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
