Physician Assistant – Orthopedics (Shoulder & Elbow)

Coastal Orthopedics is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to support our Shoulder & Elbow specialty team. In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians in both clinic and surgical settings, helping guide patients through their full care journey—from evaluation to recovery.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient evaluations, including histories and physical exams (new, established, pre-op, post-op)
- Order and interpret X-rays, labs, and diagnostic tests
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
- Assist in surgery as First Assist, including wound closure and case preparation
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education
- Conduct inpatient rounds, consults, and discharges
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Monitor post-op recovery, including wound care, DME, and PT coordination
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Participate in call rotation (1–2 weeks per month)
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active Florida PA license (required)
- Minimum 1 year of Physician Assistant experience (orthopedics preferred)
- Experience in orthopedic, hospital, or outpatient settings preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification
