We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre- and Post-Operative Nurse to join our orthopedic team. This role is responsible for preparing patients for surgery and providing attentive recovery care, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments, including medical history review and patient education
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures, ensuring all protocols and documentation are complete
- Monitor patients in the immediate post-operative phase, assessing vital signs and recovery progress
- Administer medications and manage pain control per physician orders
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in FL
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; orthopedic or surgical experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
