We're seeking a Construction Representative to support electric utility roadway restoration and infrastructure projects throughout New York City. This role will work closely with contractors and internal project teams to monitor field activities, ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with project requirements, and maintain accurate construction documentation.
Location: Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan
Responsibilities
- Provide daily field oversight of contractor crews performing roadway milling and paving activities.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and safety briefings before construction begins.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and safety standards.
- Inspect utility structures, including manholes, castings, and roadway plates, before, during, and after construction activities.
- Verify completed work quantities and assist with contractor payment validation.
- Prepare daily field reports, including photographs, sketches, and construction documentation.
- Document deficiencies, damaged infrastructure, and safety concerns, and communicate issues to project leadership.
- Serve as a field liaison between contractors, project teams, and municipal agencies.
- Utilize work management systems (Maximo/CWorks or similar) to upload field documentation and work orders.
Qualifications.
- 1–3 years of experience in construction inspection, field engineering, construction management, or utility/infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Maximo, CWorks, or similar work management systems is a plus.
- Willingness to work both in the field and in an office environment.
