CMC is seeking an experienced Senior Transmission Project Manager to support one of the nation's leading electric utilities on a portfolio of high-voltage transmission capital projects throughout Arizona.
This role is ideal for a seasoned utility project manager with experience leading large transmission projects from engineering through construction, energization, and project closeout.
What You'll Do
- Lead the execution of complex transmission capital projects from initiation through closeout
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and overall project performance
- Coordinate engineering, environmental, permitting, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
- Serve as the primary liaison between utility stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and leadership
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, and project financials
- Monitor project progress and ensure key milestones are achieved
- Facilitate project meetings and provide executive-level status reporting
- Ensure compliance with utility standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Drive successful project delivery while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule objectives
Qualifications
- 10 years of utility project management experience
- Strong background managing high-voltage transmission projects
- Experience delivering projects from planning through construction and energization
- Knowledge of utility engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes
- Experience managing EPC contractors and multiple project stakeholders
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Experience
Experience managing:
- 69kV–500kV Transmission Line Projects
- Transmission Substations
- Grid Modernization Programs
- Generation Interconnections
- Large Utility Capital Programs
- Owner's Representative or Utility-side Project Management
Experience with utilities is highly desirable.
