Job Summary
Performs complex preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on general carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems. Utilizes advanced diagnostics skills and tools to conduct detailed inspections. Manages emergency repairs across carpentry, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems. Ensures building systems operate efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Works individually and collaboratively with other trades, outside vendors, and Cleveland State University (CSU) employees. Maintains and communicates accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or state recognized equivalent.
- Three (3) years of experience in general maintenance, carpentry, residential home repair, construction, or related field e.g. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. May include vocational training.
- Fall Protection Certification or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of hire.
- Asbestos Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Certification and Confined Space Certification or ability to obtain certifications within one (1) year of hire. (Applicable to Maintenance Technician 2 in Building Operations Department)
- Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds. If lifting is over fifty (50) pounds, the ability to buddy lift or use of tools to aid in lifting.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding, catwalks, and various arial lifts in excess of twenty-five (25) feet.
- Ability to work weekends, and on call-hours as required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
