Cleveland Menu is a 3rd generation family-owned business that has been serving the hospitality industry since 1930 and specializes in the design and production of high-quality leather, metal, wood and printed menu covers. SUMMARY
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the organization’s HR initiatives, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Manage the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; and collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and files.
- Support employee performance reviews and assist in tracking goals and development plans.
- Facilitate training on HR topics, employee engagement initiatives, and HR communications.
- Address employee relations issues and escalate complex cases to HR Manager.
- Participate in policy development, updates, and implementation.
- Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping systems.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding process.
- Manage employee attendance, PTO tracking, and timecard/timeclock errors.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite and HR/Payroll software.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with minimal supervision, and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
- Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently or in a team-oriented environment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a non-union manufacturing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions and/or hazardous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; stand and walk occasionally (including in the plant); near vision acuity for computer work; ability to communicate clearly through verbal interactions on the phone and in person; and fine motor skills to operate a keyboard/mouse and other office equipment.
