Clayton Services is searching for a Contract Administrator to join a thriving civil engineering and construction services firm in Houston, Texas. The Contract Administrator will be responsible for supporting the construction phase of public and private infrastructure projects by managing contract documents, coordinating communication among project stakeholders, and assisting construction managers throughout the bidding and project execution processes.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $55,000 - $80,000/year

Contract Administrator Responsibilities:
- Administer, organize, and route contract documents during the construction phase of civil engineering and construction projects
- Support the Construction Manager throughout bid phases, contract execution, and active construction phases
- Coordinate communication between owners, contractors, project managers, construction managers, and field observers
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, coordinate appointments, and assist with conference or project meeting arrangements
- Assemble project materials, background documentation, reports, and correspondence as needed
- Prepare routine non-technical correspondence on behalf of the Construction Manager or project team
- Track project documentation, contract records, submittals, correspondence, and related construction administration items
- Collect information for routine inquiries, reports, and project updates
- Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential project files
- Escalate non-routine requests, project issues, or documentation concerns to the appropriate manager
- Assist with general administrative support for the Construction Services group as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Contract Administrator Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of construction administration, project documentation, or civil engineering project support
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with owners, contractors, engineers, project managers, and field personnel
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

- Strong follow-up skills and ability to keep project documentation moving through the proper channels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Newforma or similar engineering/construction document management software is a plus
Contract Administrator Education and Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in the construction industry, civil engineering industry, construction administration, or a related project support role
- Experience supporting construction managers, project managers, engineers, contractors, or infrastructure project teams preferred
- Civil engineering, public works, land development, drainage, transportation, utilities, or construction services experience is a strong plus
- Previous experience with bid phase support, contract documents, construction correspondence, submittals, RFIs, or project documentation preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, engineering technology, or a related field is a plus
