The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Wastewater/Water Analytical Senior Chemist position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Performing complex physical, chemical, microbiological, and other laboratory analysis of domestic and industrial wastewater, treatment plant effluents, receiving waters, and other materials.
- Setting up, calibrating, operating, and maintaining a variety of advanced laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Interpreting and evaluating analytical results, including recognizing and solving problems.
- Preparing documentation of samples, tests, and procedures; generating analytical reports and documents related to the laboratory's quality assurance program.
- Providing improvements to laboratory processes and analytical procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
- Providing training, lead direction, work assignments, and work reviews for chemists and technicians; assists the Laboratory Supervisor with personnel matters.

Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in organic or inorganic chemistry, biochemistry or a closely related field.
- Four (4) years of full-time professional laboratory chemical analyses in a water or wastewater laboratory.
- Full-time professional experience in a related field may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years.
- Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
- Preference given to candidates who hold Nevada Water Environment Association Grade III Wastewater Quality Analyst Certification.
- Reciprocity: Employees with out-of-state certifications for any of the above may seek Nevada certification through reciprocity application within one (1) year of hire date.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
