What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytical Chemist position at RDP Development?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Laboratory inventory and order supplies.
- Capable of diagnosing instrument issues and performing routine, basic and emergency maintenance on HPLC, GC-FID/MS, and LCMS instruments.
- Capable of diagnosing sample preparation issues (i.e. issues with solvent extraction, acid digestion, etc.)
- Assist Lab director in performing validations, making changes to procedures to improve laboratory efficiency, maintain GLP and Quality Control.
- Manage and help technicians and analysts with issues that may occur during daily operations.
- Be a backup analyst and perform duties of an absent analyst.
- Prepare test solutions and reagents for the analysis of laboratory samples
- Perform chemical extractions using organic solvents or acid solutions
- Conduct physical, chemical, and microbial analysis of different materials (raw botanicals, botanical extracts, and edible goods)
- Operate analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS to determine the chemical and physical properties of compounds.
- Data (LIMS) entry and internal tracking of samples from receipt to disposal
- Ensure proper documentation in laboratory notebooks and/or logbooks
- Help maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
- Perform peer review of analytical data of other Chemists and Analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERTISE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in a natural or physical science (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, etc.)
- Minimum of (2) years hands-on analytical laboratory work experience in a Pharmaceutical, Dietary Supplement, Cosmetics, Environmental, or Food laboratory
- Method development experience in analytical chemistry
- Strong operational and troubleshooting experience in HPLC, GC, and Mass Spectrometry, or similar laboratory instrumentations
- Familiar with USP, FCC, AOAC, BAM, GLP analytical methods
- Knowledge and experience – Word, Excel, MS Office software, email
- Comfortable working as a team
- Must be able to be found suitable to hold a work card
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
- Regularly walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talkor hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up 50 pounds.
- Have good close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
