Job Title: Temporary Data & Research Associate
Organization: Nonprofit Organization
Location: Midtown (Penn Station area)
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays; Remote Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays)
Duration: 3 months (with potential extension to 6 months)
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $35/hr - 40/hr
About the Role
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a detail-oriented Data & Research Associate to support its Advancement team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, conducting online research, and improving data quality to support fundraising strategy.
The primary focus of this role is reviewing and enriching contact records, identifying missing data, and conducting research to strengthen donor prospecting and engagement efforts across both high-net-worth individuals and broader supporter audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and audit CRM contact records, with a focus on identifying missing City and State information
- Research and validate contact details using tools such as LinkedIn, iWave, and other online sources
- Support data hygiene and cleanup efforts, including duplicate review and formatting consistency
- Update CRM records (Salesforce) in alignment with established data standards
- Ensure high accuracy and proper documentation to support reporting and prospect scoring
- Collaborate with Advancement Operations to align data updates with fundraising workflows
Tools & Systems
- Excel / Google Sheets
- LinkedIn and other online research platforms
- iWave (preferred; training available)
- Salesforce (preferred or willingness to learn quickly)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large datasets in spreadsheets or CRM systems
- Background in prospect research, fundraising operations, data quality, or CRM support is a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data
- Ability to research, validate, and synthesize information from multiple sources
- Highly organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently
