Director, Supply Chain Planning – Retail | East Coast or Midwest | $174K–$235K
Are you a retail supply chain leader who thrives at the intersection of operations and client strategy?
We're placing a Director-level hire for a global technology and consulting firm's retail practice. This is a dual-mandate role: you'll lead a team of planners and analysts delivering supply chain planning services to major retail clients, while also contributing to growth strategy and thought leadership within the practice.
What you'll be doing:
• Owning day-to-day supply chain planning operations for retail clients — forecasting, DC ordering, store replenishment, allocation, and inventory management
• Driving team performance against KPIs: forecast accuracy, fill rate, in-stock %, days of supply, shrink
• Serving as a senior point of contact for client leadership — presenting performance updates, influencing strategy, and translating priorities into team execution
• Mentoring and developing a team of demand planners, supply planners, and inventory analysts
• Contributing to business development by defining solutions and positioning the firm's capabilities with prospective retail clients
• Bringing best-practice thinking to how the practice evolves its retail supply chain offering
What we're looking for:
✔ Deep hands-on experience in retail supply chain planning — specifically forecasting, replenishment, promotions, seasonal planning, and inventory management
✔ Comfort engaging at the VP/SVP level on both performance and strategy
✔ Strong analytical mindset and communication skills — you can build a compelling exec presentation and roll up your sleeves when needed
✔ Familiarity with SC planning platforms (Blue Yonder, SAP, Oracle, Relex, o9, or similar) a plus
✔ Consulting or managed services background preferred; experience with globally distributed teams a bonus
