Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Full-Time

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team across long‐term care and acute settings. Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric consults for residents in skilled nursing and long‐term care facilities
• Conduct mental health assessments for conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia‐related behaviors, schizophrenia, and mood disorders
• Evaluate cognitive status and behavioral symptoms
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring effectiveness and side effects
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, social workers, and nursing teams
• Develop behavioral management plans to improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations
• Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in long‐term care or skilled nursing (hospital/outpatient experience considered)
• Active and unrestricted NP license
• DEA license required
• CPR certification (BCLS/BLS)
• Master’s degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited NP program
• Preferred: Experience in psychiatry (training available)
• Preferred: Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Sigma, Visual, PCC – training provided)
