Position: Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant
Location: Germantown & Silver Spring, MD
Job Type: Full-Time, On-site
Responsibilities-
- Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations, including cranial nerve exams, motor/sensory assessments, and mental status testing for patients with conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and dementia.
- Order and interpret specialized diagnostic tests, including MRI/CT imaging, EEGs, and EMGs, to develop and adjust individualized treatment protocols.
- Perform or assist in neurology-specific procedures, including Botox injections for chronic migraines, trigger point injections, and lumbar punctures.
- Coordinate and conduct hospital rounds for acute neurological admissions and manage the transition of care for patients moving to outpatient follow-up.
- Prescribe and monitor complex pharmacological regimens, including specialized infusions and anti-epileptic medications.
- Act as a clinical liaison between the outpatient clinic and affiliated inpatient facilities to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and provide patient education regarding chronic disease management and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support patient needs during nights or weekends.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited PA/NP program (required.
- Active state PA/ NP license and board certification required.
- Prior experience in neurology is preferred, though candidates with strong internal medicine or emergency room backgrounds will be considered.
