Responsibilities
The Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight of nursing operations through the direct management of nursing staff, collaboration with medical providers and hospital leadership, and coordination with vendors and support services. This role promotes a culture of professionalism, compassion, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care and promote exceptional service standards.
- Foster positive and professional interactions with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare teams.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff through education, professional development, coaching, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee daily departmental operations while maintaining fiscal responsibility and efficient resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with CMS requirements, applicable regulatory standards, and established Standards of Nursing Care and Practice.
- Monitor and support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, hospital leadership, interdisciplinary teams, vendors, and support services.
- Serve as a professional ambassador for the organization both within the organization and in the broader community.
Qualifications
Required Education
- BSN or BS degree, or currently enrolled in an accredited BSN/BS program.
Preferred Education
- MSN or MS degree.
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of current clinical nursing experience.
- 1–2 years of nursing management or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience with quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience with fiscal management, budgeting, and resource utilization.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
- Experience working effectively in a fast-paced emergency or acute-care environment is preferred.
