Position Summary
The Physician is responsible for providing high-quality primary, preventive, acute, chronic, and emergency medical care while maintaining the highest ethical standards. The role includes patient diagnosis, treatment, documentation, hospital responsibilities, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide primary, acute, chronic, preventive, and emergency care in clinic, hospital, nursing home, outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and maternity settings.
- Maintain active hospital privileges and provide inpatient care, emergency coverage, obstetric, and surgical services as assigned.
- Develop positive patient relationships and provide equitable care regardless of race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic status.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records.
Professional & Administrative Duties
- Fulfill agreed-upon clinic hours while maintaining flexibility for hospital duties, continuing education, and patient needs.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Peer Review programs.
- Attend staff meetings, medical conferences, and continuing medical education activities.
- Serve as a preceptor for physicians in training, Physician Assistants (PAs), and Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) when requested.
- Provide consultation on clinical, administrative, operational, policy, quality, and regulatory matters.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and uphold organizational policies, including WE CARE standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and organizational data.v
Professional Conduct
- Devote full professional attention to assigned duties.
- Refrain from outside professional services or competitive activities without written organizational approval.
- Coordinate Board-related requests through the Chief Medical Officer.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Medical School.
- Minimum one-year internship.
- Knowledge of sound medical practice, healthcare regulations, administrative functions, and rural/underserved patient populations.
Licensure
- Current license to practice Medicine in the State of Washington.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
