Key Responsibilities of the Field Safety Manager:
- Conduct comprehensive field safety inspections across construction and solar installation sites.
- Lead engaging Toolbox Talks and site-specific safety meetings addressing present conditions and potential hazards.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings to evaluate upcoming safety needs and allocate resources effectively.
- Deliver thorough new hire safety orientations and maintain complete and compliant documentation.
- Oversee vehicle and trailer registration, insurance, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety logs, calibration schedules, inspection records, and related documentation.
- Train field teams on confined space entry, fall protection, PPE standards, and other essential safety topics.
- Develop and update Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Emergency Response Plans.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable industry regulations.
- Collaborate with HR on incident reporting, workers’ compensation processes, and insurance claims.
- Provide coaching and leadership to reinforce accountability and open communication throughout the organization.
- Serve as the company representative during OSHA, DEM, Fire Department, and additional regulatory inspections.
Qualifications of the Field Safety Manager:
- 4 years of experience in safety management within construction or renewable energy environments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform audits, develop safety programs, and lead engaging, effective training sessions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex or sensitive conversations.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of coordinating safety efforts across multiple active job sites.
- Strong sense of urgency, ownership, and commitment to maintaining safe, compliant work environments.
- Solid understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
