NATURE OF POSITION
Perform general pool maintenance and assist with upkeep, cleanliness, and sanitation of the entire facility under the direction of the Aquatic Maintenance Manager, City of Walla Walla Maintenance, and Aquatic Coordinator Teams.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General direction and oversight is provided by the Aquatic Recreation Coordinator.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Hand and power tools, cleaning supplies and tools, chemical test kits.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time; intermittently stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend at the waist and lift up to 40 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in all types of weather conditions and around children, noise, and distractions. Outdoor and indoor environments around swimming pools and aquatics facilities; exposure to pool chemicals; water and wet surfaces.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age and possess basic knowledge of tools.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience testing chemicals and operating hand power tools; Bilingual in Spanish.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Comply with the City of Walla Walla's work safety standards and procedures.
- Perform general pool and facility maintenance; service the filtration system valves; skim water surface; monitor water temperature and chemical/PH readings; adjust maintenance of such areas as appropriate.
- Perform routine maintenance to equipment and supplies.
- Prepare and set-up equipment prior to the start of each shift.
- Perform general, routine custodial duties, including picking up trash, sweeping, and pressure washing.
- Wear a uniform (maintenance worker t-shirt).
- Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff, including inventory needs and chemical/PH concerns.
- Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public and provide information as appropriate.
- Demonstrate punctual, regular, and reliable attendance which is essential for successful job performance.
- Present a positive, professional image; maintain cooperative and effective working relationships; assure excellent customer service with internal and external customers.
