This is very responsible administrative and supervisory staff work in coordinating, preparing, and monitoring various Sanitation activities, including assisting an administrative supervisor in handling overall technical and administrative matters related to the City’s sanitation inspectors, mulch, and rodent control programs. Work involves coordinating and monitoring the assigned administrative, reporting, and financial aspects of these programs, including reporting mandated by the county and state; overseeing the container maintenance division; asset management; private hauler program; and responsibilities, as delegated, for the selection, placement, promotion, training, safety, appraisal and discipline of any assigned employees. Work requires decision making based on experience and knowledge of the various specializations, as well as the exercise of considerable independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Salary: $61,736 - $98,425

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Possess a valid High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess progressive and responsible administrative and supervisory experience in financial and office management and customer service, preferably with a governmental agency.
- Have some experience in aiding an administrative supervisor in technical and administrative problems and affairs.
- Be able to understand and completely follow oral and written instructions.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Possess a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Have considerable familiarity with the purchase specifications and use of related equipment, and the county and state rules governing the areas of responsibility.
- Have some supervisory experience.
- Are able to firmly, tactfully and impartially enforce uniform work standards, practices and policies.
- Have proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Excel.
- Are able to quickly and accurately perform mathematical calculations to determine cost assessments.
