SCHEDULE/HOURS: This is a supplemental, variable position and may not exceed 29 hours per week and 1,040 hours per year. Shifts run 7:30am to 4:30pm (may vary seasonally) and include working weekends and holidays.

Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on site liaison for staff, participants and facility users
- Provide clear direction and support to part-time staff, volunteers, and contractors
- Ensure City policies, safety procedures, and program guidelines are consistently followed
- Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, and incidents in a professional and solution-oriented manner
- Oversee facility setup, support program coordination, and assist with basic operational duties
- Make independent decisions within established procedures, exercising sound judgment and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective leadership, communication, and customer service practices
- Extensive knowledge of equine and livestock, including but not limited to feeding, cleaning, grooming, handling, first aid, and routine health maintenance
- Communicate and manage program or event information
- Computer skills for documenting, tracking, and communicating program details
- Identify and utilize various modes of communication
- Gather, organize, and present ideas in a professional manner
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the community
- Communicate and interact effectively with others, such as the public, program staff, volunteers, contractors, etc.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative
- Work in a collaborative team environment in multiple capacities; may serve as lead or supporting member of the team
- Stay abreast of updates and changes in guidelines, restrictions, regulations, and codes that pertain to the program, event, and applicable confidential information
- Assess situations and respond appropriately, prioritizing safety and service
- Educate, train, and provide direction to others, e.g., day camp staff, riding instructors, farm maintenance, customer service representatives, etc.
- May fill in for various roles within a program or event as needed e.g., teacher, instructor, presenter, or facilitator
- Learn how to operate a tractor
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Physical effort is required to perform heavy manual labor in dirty and uncomfortable conditions, including noise, distractions, seasonal heat, and adverse weather conditions.
- Physical agility, stamina, and ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
- Three years’ experience in program coordination and development,
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or coursework preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid WA State Driver's license required. Accommodations for lack of driver's license may be considered depending on the assignment or circumstances.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certifications (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
