Make an impact in the community—outdoors! The City of Pleasanton is seeking friendly, hardworking, detail-oriented team members to join our Parks Division as Park Maintenance Aides, supporting the maintenance of City parks, trails, medians, and outdoor amenities.
Working as part of a crew, you’ll help keep Pleasanton’s outdoor spaces clean, safe, and welcoming—performing a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks where you can often see the immediate results of your work.
We're Looking for Someone Who Is
- Interested in landscaping/horticulture and motivated to learn and grow on the job.
- Safety-conscious and able to appropriately select and safely use hand and power tools.
- Comfortable working around the public and able to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
- Able to do basic math and work effectively both independently and as part of a crew.
- Physically able to bend, reach, twist, stoop, and stand/walk for extended periods.
In This Role, You Will
- Set up traffic control (e.g., sign boards, cones, warning signs).
- Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and ground cover using hand and gas-powered tools.
- Mow, edge, and perform turf maintenance using equipment such as walk-behind mowers and string trimmers.
- Weed and clean landscaped areas; remove graffiti; clean walkways, picnic tables, trash cans, and other park features.
- Pick up litter and empty trash receptacles throughout parks and landscaped areas.
- Assist with planting/removal of trees/shrubs, staking/tying methods, spreading mulch, and stump grinding support.
- Assist with repairs of structures such as bleachers, benches, backstops, and concrete walkways/curbs/slabs.
- Participate in periodic safety meetings and follow established safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
License:
Possess a valid California driver's license.
