The Auto Parts Clerk II is responsible for processing a large volume of auto parts purchase requests, goods receipts in an eProcurement system and within the asset management system.
Other Responsibilities May Include
- Contacting vendors to obtain revised invoices and statements for reconciliation.
- Reading, comprehending, and applying knowledge of laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and procedures governing public procurement.
- Understanding the fleet industry, contracts, and be compliant with procurement requirements.
- Some college or technical degree in automotive equipment or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Excel in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, particularly within parts support or warehouse operations, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Effectively manage reports, communications, and inventory-related data.
$21.54 per hour.
Pay Range Explanation

Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of experience in receiving, stocking, and issuing automotive and heavy equipment parts and supplies (or two years at the level of Automotive Parts Clerk I).
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.
- This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.

- Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required. Some vacancies may occur on second / third shift.
- Moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Must have at least two years of experience working at an automotive parts counter, with proven track record of helping mechanics identify and locate specialty or hard to source parts.
- Advanced experience with using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Two years of front part counter experience with heavy, medium, and light duty truck parts.
- Two years of customer service experience. - Providing direct face to face customer service with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism.
- Operating a forklift.
- Order tracking and follow up of special order parts.
- Offroad and industrial equipment (Gang mowers, sanitation machines, backhoes, tactors, forklift, front end loaders etc.)
- Parts management applications associated with M5 or Faster.
- Computerized inventory systems (CMMS) ensuring accurate tracking and efficient supply chain operations.
- Following government or municipal purchasing guidelines and utilizing purchasing programs to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
