About This Position
The Phoenix Convention Center and Venues is one of the premier convention facilities in the United States. It hosts a diverse range of conventions, trade shows, meetings, and entertainment events. We are committed to delivering the highest levels of customer service and guest experience in the industry.
This position performs skilled level electrician work in the maintenance, construction, installation, alteration/modification, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade for primarily commercial and industrial applications. These duties are performed in various convention center, theater, and garage locations. Positions may be assigned to shop or field locations. Certain assignments may include electronics metering and instrumentation and working with various voltages. Assignments are received by sketches, blueprints, verbally, and through work orders.
There are currently four vacancies for this role. This electrician position is for the Phoenix Convention Center and Venues. The Convention center is a twenty hours per day Seven days per week operation. Electrical positions work Sunday- Wednesday or Wednesday- Saturday. Four, ten-hour day or evening shift.
SALARY
$35.78 - $47.95 per hour base wage. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized four-year electrical apprenticeship program, or equivalent training,
- or three years of experience as a skilled electrician.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Other requirement include:
- Working second shift, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Working in small, cramped areas such as ceiling crawl spaces, and equipment enclosures.
- Working at heights up to 100 feet.
- Working outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience in/with
- Commercial and/or industrial experience.
- Medium voltage experience (maintenance, installation, equipment, and substations).
- Experience with NFPA70E.
- Reviewing plans, making recommendations, and working with contractors and /or service partners.
- Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment up to 480V.
- Use of aerial equipment at heights of 100 feet.
- Lighting maintenance; ballast, lamps, relays, and computer operation.
- Installation, repairing, operation, and maintaining of medium voltage (12.47kv, 13.8kv) feeder systems and substations.
- Guest Services, providing seamless services with direct customer contact.
- Installing or working with S.E.S., transformer, or generator equipment.
- Lighting installation or controls, troubleshooting and repair.
- Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Reading blueprints, schematics, and one lines.
- Profiency in Microsoft Office applications.
