Reports to Police Major, Police Lieutenant, or as otherwise designated by management.
Assigned to the Patrol Unit or the Support Services Unit.
Performs secretarial and/or clerical duties for the Owensboro Police Department, as assigned.

Performs secretarial and/or clerical duties for the Owensboro Police Department, as assigned.
- Conducts secretarial and clerical work from basic to considerable difficulty level, such as but not limited to: routine and non-routine tasks; typing; computer work; makes copies; processing/administration of various paperwork; preparation of correspondence, such as but are not limited to: reports, spreadsheets, documents, forms, graphs, brochures, fliers, notices, and posters. Other duties included but are not limited to:data entry; updating spreadsheets; greets, screens, refers, and routes visitors, answer/forward phone calls, and open/distribute mail; coordination and/or scheduling of meetings/appointments; transcription of minutes/meetings; relays messages; communicating administrative and general information; running errands; files and maintains records in secured fashion to ensure confidentiality and/or compliance with applicable laws and internal storage/imaging requirements; proofreads; reviews secretarial and clerical methods and procedures to improve workflow, simplify procedures, implement cost reductions, and enhance effectiveness and efficiency; recommends methods to resolve secretarial or clerical-related problems; works with programming staff as necessary to enhance New World Systems, Microsoft, and/or other applications; performs special projects as directed.
- Valid driver's license
- Associates Degree in a job related field OR
- At least 1 year of work related experience in a clerical position
