What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Facility Supervisor position at City of Owensboro?
The Recreation Facility Supervisor oversees operations of and citizen usage of recreation facilities and parks, with these assignments being specifically for Smothers Park.
Starting pay $16.3606/hr.
The Supervisor is responsible for safety, cleanliness, customer service, and supervision of the facility, park, staff and patrons. Generally, intermittent employees work as needed, including weekends and holidays, in accordance with applicable policy and law.
- Monitors Recreation Facility Workers, concessions, restrooms, public spaces, ice area, and spectator areas
- Monitors the fountains and test chemicals at least once per hour at the Spray Park; Logs all chemical readings in proper logbook; Monitors/Controls the pumps; Tests the water as otherwise required
- Performs Opening and Closing duties as required for designated facility, including bank deposits
- Designates duties to Recreation Facility Workers during operational hours
- Keeps inventory and ensures proper maintenance and authorized use of supplies and equipment (e.g., first aid supplies; concessions; etc.);
QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application):
High school diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license required. CPR / First Aid certification is required immediately upon employment. No experience required but does require the ability to organize/develop/direct recreational activities, deal tactfully with the public, effectively supervise, manage, and address issues involving Intermittent employees, program participants, and large crowds in a public recreation facility/park setting.
