Management position responsible for grounds maintenance operations, including but not limited to parks, athletic facilities, rights-of-way, basins, and all city-maintained facilities.

- Plans, develops, and maintains landscape and renovation projects
- Manages reforestation of parks and public areas, maintaining accurate records of plantings, removals, and maintenance
- Manages turf maintenance programs
- Assists with preparations, setup, and execution of special events
- Monitors vehicle/equipment maintenance, playground inspections, and coordinates necessary repairs
- Contractual oversite for grounds maintenance and projects
- Provides technical guidance to various departments regarding tree and landscape maintenance
- Manages the replacement plan for playgrounds
- Prepares and administers grants
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of long-range plans, annual objectives, and budgets
- Prepares reports, documentation, and presentations
- Addresses public issues, complaints, and requests
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or other job-related field, such as Agriculture/Agronomy or Forestry, AND
- Minimum 3 yrs. experience in horticulture or related field
- OR
- Associate’s degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school in horticulture or job-related field, plus 4 yrs. experience in horticulture or related field.
- An equivalent amount of education and/or experience is acceptable.
- Valid driver’s license required.
