Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this position exists is to work in the Planetarium auditorium. The work responsibilities of this classification include: developing and presenting Planetarium shows; coordinating and overseeing daily operations of the Planetarium; assisting the Planetarium Director; and performing administrative duties. This position works under the general supervision of the Planetarium Director.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and two (2) years of customer service including experience with public speaking.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Must be willing to work non-standard 40 hours per week, generally within 8:00am to 6:00pm, with extended hours on weekdays and weekends, be available on evenings and holidays on a regular and/or rotating basis, work around moderate to high noise levels, work long periods in the sun and work at night standing and operating telescopes. Must be willing to use ladders, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
