General Definition of Work Performs work managing and coordinating cases, conducting field visits and drug testing, mentoring and coaching clients, performing evaluations and assessments, completing required reports, providing testimony in court, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Probation Director. Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Manages assigned cases; receives and reviews case documentation; utilizes target intervention strategies to conduct assessments, address criminogenic needs, and determine client risk levels; plans cases; monitors and assists clients with adherence and completion of court order conditions; mentors, coaches, and assists clients with skill building; refers clients to appropriate agencies for additional services. Conducts field visits and drug tests; completes and files related reports; provides feedback and testimony in court. Conducts pre-sentence investigations; completes pre-dispositional reports, domestic violence inventories, chemical use screenings, and cognitive restructuring programming. Completes general office and administrative tasks; conducts in-house UA collections; answers telephone calls; assists offenders with issues and questions; interacts with and provides information to outside agencies - including law enforcement, treatment facilitators and other service providers. Monitors updates, and maintains files and reports; reviews, records, and checks documents; contacts clients for updates and to offer assistance. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, criminology, or related field and minimal experience managing cases, coaching clients, completing reports, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Special Qualifications None Working Conditions Physical Requirements and Activity This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling and repetitive motions. Sensory Requirements Work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound. Sensory Utilization Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities. Environmental Conditions Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g., business office, light traffic).
