- Recruit and onboard new volunteers.
- Develop and implement volunteer training programs.
- Management of overall volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments.
- Coordinating between departments the volunteers needed for each program, service, and event.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and contributions.
- Develop strategies to increase volunteer engagement and retention.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts involving volunteers.
- Promote volunteer opportunities through various channels.
- Conduct regular meetings with volunteers to assess progress.
- Provide feedback and professional development opportunities for volunteers.
- Evaluate and recognize volunteer performance.
- Assist with creating and managing the volunteer program budget.
- Create, enhance, and maintain volunteer programs within the community through relationship and partnership building.
- Serve as the back-up for the administration responsibilities of the Restitution Program.
- Work with DCASE Outdoor Event Incentive Program producers to enhance volunteering opportunities.
- Build various volunteer programs based on needs of the event/program using historical data, through the lens of growth.
- Identify paths of efficiencies through the use of volunteers in various events or programs.
- Communicate all volunteer schedules and information with the relevant parties in relation to the event or program in a timely manner.
- Create an internal process through which volunteer effectiveness is managed and follow-up with all parties is overseen.
- Attend events or programs as needed for volunteer management needs. These include but are not limited to: The Fourth of July Celebration, La Fiesta de Elgin, Nightmare on Chicago Street, Brews at Bowes, 1-2 Movies in the Park, 1-2 Concerts in the Park, various parks programs, other events and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, high school diploma or equivalent, and/or minimum of two/four years’ experience in volunteer management.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
