Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site Volunteer Coordinator role located in Lombard, IL. The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing volunteers to support the organization's operations. Additional responsibilities include coordinating volunteer activities to align with the goals of various programs, providing ongoing support to volunteers, and fostering relationships between volunteers and community members. The Volunteer Coordinator will also assist in organizing community outreach efforts to promote volunteer engagement and program awareness.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Volunteer Training and Volunteer Management to effectively onboard, schedule, and support volunteers.
- Exceptional Interpersonal and Communication skills to build relationships with volunteers, staff, and community members.
- Experience in Community Outreach to effectively promote organizational programs and engage with external partners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and create a welcoming environment for all.
- Organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple programs and volunteer schedules.
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their operations is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.
