SEASONAL- Gateway Lead Specialist – Pikes Peak Highway (PT Administrative Support)
About the Job: Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain (PPAM) seeks a highly motivated and courteous individual for a part-time, seasonal opportunity. Under the guidance of professional staff, the Gateway Lead Specialist will obtain practical experience working in the tourism and hospitality industry at a world-renowned site. In this position, the Gateway Lead Specialist will be responsible for assisting in providing leadership for the daily operations at the gateway. Regular duties include processing point-of-sale reports, troubleshooting business operations technology, serving as an authority to resolve guest complaints, conducting radio communications, and assisting in completing a variety of reporting logs.
Job Type: Seasonal
Work Schedule: Normal work hours require working at least one weekend day – either Saturday or Sunday. The schedule for this position will include one weekend day and some holidays. Shift times will vary depending on the season. There will typically be three to four, 8-hour shifts, totaling 24 to 32 hours scheduled each week. This is not a full-time position.

*This is a seasonal (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).
*Approximate dates of employment will be Spring-Fall 2026. Scheduled hours will vary based on department needs. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.
As a Gateway Lead Specialist, you will:
- Interact with guests in a friendly and engaging manner, providing overall exceptional customer service to the diverse population of guests PPAM serves.
- Provide important information about visiting Pikes Peak and answer questions about other area attractions and recreational activities.
- Conduct two-way radio communications on behalf of the gateway in accordance with departmental standards.
- Finalize the processing of opening and closing point-of-sale paperwork.
- Troubleshoot business operations technology with Aluvii software business representatives and the City of Colorado Springs Information Technology department.
- Serve as an authority to resolve guest complaints and lead gateway operations.
- Assist in completing and filing incident reports, weather and visitation logs.
- Utilize our point-of-sale system to collect fees and check-in reservations.
- Conduct complex cash register functions in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Respond to general inquiries by answering phones and responding to emails.
- Support special events and activities in accordance with event plans.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness, general maintenance, and appearance of the gateway, public restrooms, and surrounding areas.
- Remove snow from gateway facilities walkways and entrances.
- Provide information on PPAM interpretation programs and special events for guests.
