Job Description
This position is responsible for providing secretarial and customer service support for the operations of the department.
Examples of Duties
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance; takes messages; refers to appropriate personnel.
- Logs and dispatches inspection requests.
- Reviews and processes permit and land development applications.
- Issues construction-related permits as appropriate.
- Maintains office files and records.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence, including letters and notices.
- Suggests edits and improvements to the website.
- Maintains meeting room schedules.
- Maintains and updates reports and suggests edits to office forms.
- Prepares for and attends advisory board and commission meetings; provides support and records minutes.
- Performs related duties.
- Manages, handles and balances the petty cash fund and prepares daily deposits.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
