Position Function
Plan and execute activities and facility usage with Recreation to produce quality, successful and efficient results in participation, and enjoyable programs and events for the City. Job responsibilities include direct contact with children, adults, seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Tasks/Duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement and the CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Clearance process to include national fingerprint-based records check and approval for controlled access to protected information.
Driving history for the past three (3) years must reflect no violations of a driving related felony offense, or driving under the influence (DUI) which includes both drugs and alcohol, reckless driving, or hit and run involving an occupied vehicle or attended property, or an accumulation of traffic violations, plus three (3) points for each attendance at driving school (regardless of whether points were assessed against the license) where the penalty points do not exceed twelve (12).
Position is considered at-risk for exposure to Hepatitis B during performance of regular duties. An acceptance/ declination of vaccination form is required.

Tasks/Duties
- Plan, promote and implement assigned programs and events.
- Supervise, assign, train and develop program personnel (Recreation Leader, Limited Term and Volunteers).
- Complete performance appraisals with personnel, initiating discipline or encouraging positive action, when necessary.
- Supervise all operations of assigned programs and events, ensuring all staff and volunteers have the required certifications and background checks.
- Administer volunteer background checks using LiveScan fingerprint equipment.
- Collect, secure and turn in appropriate facility and participant user fees.
- Maintain and provide activity records and reports, as assigned.
- Administer the CivicRec and Tyler Munis computer programs for proper daily operations.
- Purchase required supplies and equipment for programs and events in accordance with City policy and procedures.
- Implement sponsor strategies to maximize revenues.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budget recommendations.
- Assist with the proper and timely submittal of program promotional content.
- Coordinate assigned programs and events with other divisions, organizations and the general public.
- Promote the scope of assigned programs and events including their benefits to the community.
- Research and recommend new ideas for continued growth and enhancement of existing programs and events.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all programs and events offered through the Recreation Division.
- Operate City vehicle for transportation of materials, personnel and participants.
- Assist with the Department of Leisure Services projects, as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned. Be available for emergency call-outs.
- *Supervise CDL Drivers and manage the transportation of participants, staff and additional personnel as required.
- **Supervise and administer the Division’s Special Needs and Senior programs and events.
- In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential and may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description.
- Complete required trainings as specified within the City Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
