Position Overview
Supports daily sanitation operations by collecting and transporting refuse, yard waste, and recyclable materials across assigned service routes.

Position Functions
Applicants will be required to complete a Disclosure & Authorization Regarding Background Investigation, a Confidentiality Agreement and a criminal background screening.
Position is considered at-risk for exposure to Hepatitis B during performance of regular duties. An acceptance/declination of vaccination form is required.
If selected, post-offer essential functions assessment is required to evaluate the ability to safely meet the physical demands of the job.
A $600 bonus will be paid in the first paycheck following 30 days of continuous employment, provided that the employee has worked all assigned shifts and has not incurred any disciplinary action during this period. A $600 bonus will be paid in the first paycheck following six (6) months of continuous employment, provided the employee is in good standing, has no disciplinary actions, and maintains a satisfactory attendance record as determined by the Director. This bonus applies only to New Hires to the LT Sanitation Worker position. Any previous limited term employees that received any portion of the hiring bonus are not eligible for subsequent hiring bonuses for this position.
Employees have access to onsite gym facilities through the City's Wellness Program.

Position Functions
- Lift in excess of 50 pounds of canned or bagged refuse/yard waste in a continuing effort throughout the work day.
- Tag violations and improper refuse and recycling. Hand out pertinent educational brochures, deal tactfully with citizens.
- Report to driver of daily activity status, reports, etc.
- Exercise proper safety measures when working in congested traffic areas with potentially dangerous equipment.
- Holiday work when required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Be available for emergency call-outs.
- Work in all types of weather and walk extreme distances.
- Complete required trainings as specified within the City Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
- In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential and may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description.
