This role maintains and repairs irrigation systems across parks, medians, facilities, and public spaces throughout Altamonte Springs. You’ll diagnose issues in the field, work with controllers and wiring, install new systems, and help shape the landscapes residents see every day. - Maintain and repair all irrigation systems in city parks, medians, right-of-ways, and city facilities.
- Inspect and install irrigation systems
- Coordinate routine irrigation maintenance checklists and work reports as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist with landscape installation and renovations.
- Trouble shoot problems relating to irrigation controllers, wirings, and valves.
- In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential and may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description.
- Complete required trainings as specified within the City’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
- Assist with Department of Leisure Services and City projects, as assigned.
- Drive to and from City work sites. Perform additional duties as assigned. Be available for emergency call-outs.
- In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential and may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description.
- Complete required trainings as specified within the City Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Two (2) years’ experience in irrigation repairs, installation, and trouble shooting.
- Must have experience operating trenching machines
- Valid driver license. Must obtain Florida driver license within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Experience with Rain Bird series controllers.
- FNGLA Certified Landscape Irrigation Service Technician. Must obtain within one (1) year of employment.
- Willingness to adopt AI and emerging technologies.
