Housekeeping Supervisor
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department by ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet Marriott brand standards. This position supervises housekeeping associates, conducts room inspections, maintains inventory, and helps provide an exceptional guest experience through cleanliness and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the daily activities of the housekeeping team.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with Marriott brand standards.
- Assign daily work schedules and prioritize room cleaning based on occupancy needs.
- Train, coach, and motivate housekeeping associates on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and service standards.
- Monitor room status and coordinate with the Front Desk to ensure timely room availability.
- Maintain housekeeping supplies, linens, and inventory, and notify management of ordering needs.
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment while following all safety guidelines.
- Address guest requests and resolve housekeeping-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Report maintenance issues and follow up to ensure timely completion.
- Assist with cleaning guest rooms and public areas as needed during busy periods.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment and lead by example.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred.
- Knowledge of hotel housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
