We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team in maintaining the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces for a newly renovated hotel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment to ensure pristine grounds. The ideal candidate will be passionate about horticulture, landscape upkeep, and sports turf management, bringing enthusiasm and precision to every task. This paid position provides valuable hands-on experience in groundskeeping, irrigation systems, and landscaping maintenance within a dynamic environment.

Duties

• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems to ensure healthy turf and vibrant landscapes.
• Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, aerating, and planting to uphold aesthetic standards.
• Manage irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and adjusting schedules for optimal water efficiency.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for gardening, landscaping, and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Handle manual labor involving heavy lifting and manual handling of materials like soil, mulch, or plants.
• Apply pesticides responsibly following safety protocols to control pests while protecting the environment.
• Operate company vehicles for transportation of tools, materials, or personnel between work sites.
• Perform routine inspections of grounds and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed & equipment maintenance logs
• Parking lot maintenance to obtain curb appeal to guests
• Exterior paint upkeep of building and sidewalks
• Exterior upkeep of all public area

Skills

• Proficiency in landscape maintenance practices including lawn care, gardening, pruning, and planting.
• Skilled in operating hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners along with power tools like chainsaws and trimmers.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to proper manual handling procedures.
• Familiarity with pesticide management protocols ensuring safe application practices.
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment operation including mowers, aerators, sprayers, and other landscaping machinery.
• Understanding of power tool safety standards to prevent accidents during operation.
• Experience in horticulture principles related to plant health and landscape designs

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
