Ciorba Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Survey Technician to join our team. This role is a hybrid of field operations and technical office data analysis, drafting, and calculations. You will assist in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction surveys while using advanced field equipment and office software to transform raw data into accurate maps and records. This is an ideal role for a professional who enjoys the variety of outdoor field work paired with the precision of technical drafting.
The salary range for this position is $50,000-$65,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Survey Support: Assist in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction surveys.
- Preparation and Research: Perform necessary research, calculations, analysis, and document preparation for upcoming survey field work.
- Data Processing: Review and process survey results, including field notes, data, photos, plan markups, and structure inventory sheets, to produce accurate CAD drawings, charts, maps, and legal documents.
- Technical Drafting: Draft Plats of Highway, survey base maps, boundary and ALTA Surveys and Preliminary Legal Descriptions writing.
- Knowledge of Drone/UAS surveying methods and photogrammetry software (e.g., Pix4D, Reality Capture, Global Mapper) is a plus.

- Experience: 3-5 years of field and/or office land surveying experience.
- Personality: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to teamwork. You are reliable and maintain daily communication with your team and stay flexible in support of dynamic project schedules. You maintain positive client, vendor, and internal team member relationships.
- Professionalism: You are detail-oriented and committed to your own professional growth, ideally holding or pursuing an LSIT or CST certification.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD, with a solid grasp of robotic total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
Physical and Position Requirements:
- Mobility: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in varying weather conditions and uneven terrain.
- Manual Labor: Ability to perform tasks such as bending, digging with a hand shovel, cutting brush, and carrying equipment/stakes (5-50 lbs.).
- Transportation: Must be eligible to drive company or personal vehicles to various jobsites as required.
- Travel: Ability to perform occasional out-of-town assignments as project needs dictate.
