Position Summary
Quality Engineer play a crucial role in establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving Cimarron’s Quality Management System (QMS). Responsible for implementing quality assurance processes that monitor, inspect, assess, and enhance operational practices. This position is essential in driving preventive and corrective measures to eliminate defects and reduce process variability.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, suppliers and customers to address quality issues.
- Document and report findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Train and mentor staff on quality control processes and best practices.
- Support the Quality Culture through their detailed understanding of the company's QMS and quality requirements.
- Function as change agents, using Quality Assurance methods to promote a culture of defect prevention and continual improvement.
- Liaise with internal Customers, Suppliers and Clients to ensure that Quality requirements are understood and achieved.
- Integrate quality processes throughout the organization to drive performance improvement and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) in products and services.

- Analyze product and service-related data to support prevention and resolution of quality issues.
- Audit quality systems for compliance and address identified findings and risks.
- Exhibit good understanding of the company's QMS and quality requirements.
- Train teams on quality management systems, continuous improvement techniques (PDCA, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma), and defect prevention practices.
- Assess and optimize processes by identifying improvement areas and implementing effective solutions that lead to continuous/cost improvements.
- Understand the creation, reporting, and analysis of quality metrics.
- Enhance customer satisfaction by analyzing feedback and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Lead in Root Cause investigations for significant issues and ensure effective corrective action is implemented to prevent recurrence of discrepancies.
- Understanding concepts and participating in Risk Assessments.
- Understanding of Plan Do Check Act (PDCA), Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field (or equivalent experience; 5 years in a Quality Engineer role).
- Proven experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or related roles.
- Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills, with hands-on experience using tools such as SPC, Minitab, and root cause analysis methods.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and train staff in quality tools, structured problem solving, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations; experience with ISO 9001:2015 and ASME is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, quality/ERP software, and data analysis tools.
- Professional certifications (ASQ CQE, CQA, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) preferred.
