Role Overview & Scope
The Preschool Assistant partners with the classroom teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment. Working under the direction of the lead teacher, the assistant helps students develop academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually while supporting the classroom's daily operations.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Classroom Support
• Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans that reflect the preschool curriculum, Christian values, and school standards.
• Support the preparation, organization, and execution of classroom learning activities, centers, and outdoor play.
• Help maintain an orderly, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with transitions, meals, restroom routines, and other daily classroom procedures.
• Encourage positive behavior through consistent guidance and reinforcement of classroom expectations.
• Foster positive relationships with students while promoting their spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth.
• Provide continuous supervision of children during all classroom activities, outdoor play, field trips, and special events.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of every child at all times.
• Assist with playground supervision, arrival and dismissal procedures, and emergency drills.
• Report any safety concerns, injuries, illnesses, or unusual incidents promptly to the classroom teacher and Preschool Director.

Policies and Procedures
- At all times, the assistant should demonstrate professional responsibility in enforcing school policies and regulations.
- The assistant is responsible for all other duties as assigned by the Director of Preschool.
- The assistant is responsible for knowing and following current ACSI policies and procedures, DCF regulations, and all accreditation standards.
- The primary responsibility of the assistant is the safety and well‐being of the children.
