Role Overview & Scope
The CCA Classroom Teacher Assistant is a vital member of Christ’s Church Ministries, helping to advance Christ’s Church Academy’s mission to make disciples (Matt. 28:18), better disciples (Acts 2:42), and more disciples (Mark 16:15) through excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. With guidance and in partnership with the Lower School Principal, the Classroom Teacher Assistant will provide Biblically integrated instruction designed to help students learn developmental skills and subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities & Tasks

Receives primary direction from their classroom teacher(s) regarding the prioritization of day-to-day duties and responsibilities.

Build and maintain relationships across the school community.

Team player willing to flex and help support efforts collaboratively.

Follow the Matthew 18 principle in navigating conflict with students, parents, faculty, and/or administration.
Essential Functions

Reflect the mission of the school by disciplining students and helping them to know Jesus, be transformed by Jesus, and be on mission with Jesus.

Support the learning environment

Always maintain a professional and orderly environment conducive to student learning and safety.

Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids for use in the classroom, including activity sheets, drawings, and similar handouts

Grading assignments as needed

Presents subject matter to children or adults, under the guidance of a teacher

Leads classroom activities; may confer with parents on children's progress in the absence of the teacher.

Assist children or adults, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.

Supervising students during lunch, recess, and other activities

Support oversight of students before and after school.

Prioritize the responsibilities of a teacher assistant ahead of other jobs or volunteer activities.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

One to three years of experience working with children

Associate’s Degree or higher
Systems

Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, and industry-specific educational software.

Utilizes the designated tools and applications in FACTS/Renweb to perform all essential functions required.

Utilizes Office 365 products, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently stand, walk, and sit.

Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Ability to occasionally reach below knees, waist to knee, waist to chest, chest to shoulders, and above shoulders.

Ability to occasionally pull, lift, carry, and push 30 pounds.
